Critique Review
“Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Chateau Laffitte-Carcasset leaps from the glass with notes of freshly crushed blackberries, warm blackcurrants and redcurrant jelly plus hints of violets, pencil shavings, wild sage and beef drippings. Medium-bodied, the palate is chock-full of crunchy black fruits supported by ripe, grainy tannins and compelling freshness, offering a satisfying finish of fresh berries with a minty kick.”
“The 2019 Laffitte-Carcasset is a fabulous Cru Bourgeois to drink over the next decade or so. Inky dark fruit, lavender, mint, crème de cassis, menthol and licorice all run through this mid-weight, impeccably balanced SaintEstèphe. The purity of the flavors is just striking. More than anything else, the 2019 is an absolute joy to taste."
