The Barolo wine is produced in few villages (surrounding Barolo villages) in Piemonte region and Cuneo province. The soils is clayey, calcareous and with their possible combinations. Viticulture is exclusively hilly and to preserve quality of grapes the land at the bottom of the valley is excluded from the appellation. Vineyard are in beetween 170 meters above sea level and 540 meters above sea level
