This wine is made from fruit from our younger vines. It has red fruit and spicy aromas, and subtle, elegant tannins that are ripe and tasty. It can be kept for 10 years or more, but is very expressive when young.

Chateau Croix de Labrie is located in Saint-Emilion Grand Cru which inevitably think of Burgundy and its mosaic of plots and producers. Indeed, their vineyards cover around 5 acres in the heart of the appellation.

Chateau Croix de Labrie pay particular attention to the vine in order to express the maximum of the terroir. The vineyard is handled by Axelle Courdurié, as a small diamond, from pruning to the harvest, the vinification and ageing with the guidance of the team of Michel Rolland. Very mindful of detail, accuracy Axelle brings her feminine sensitivity to all our wines from Croix de Labrie.

Chateau Croix de Labrie, located in Saint-Emilion Grand Cru which inevitably think of Burgundy and its mosaic of plots, is pleased to present Les Hauts de Croix de Labrie. Made from young vines from several plots, the 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. Aged in French oak barrels for 14 months.

Harvest Method:

The fruit is picked by hand and carried in wooden crates. Pickers go down each row several times. The fruits is manipulated using gravity only and is vinified in small tanks. Temperatures are fully controlled.


After de-stemming, the fruit is screened on a vibrating sorting table, then sorted manually.

Fermentation and Maceration:

The fruit is vinified plot by plot. Different temperature levels are adhered to, but never higher than 26°C. The cap is punched down manually.


Half in new barrels, half in one-year old barrels for about 14 months
