"Lots of lifted aromas of fresh fruit, such as currants and blackberries, as well as flowers, following through to a medium body, fine and silky tannins and a vivid finish. Carmenere, syrah, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. Drink or hold." - 2018 vintage

Vineyard Info
Representing the 5th generation of the Bordeaux Lurton Family, Francois Lurton set up his own business in 1988 firstly with his brother Jacques. Today he runs the company single-handedly : owns and produces wines in estates in four countries : Argentina (Alta Uco Valley, Mendoza), Chile (Lolol, Colchagua Valley), France (Languedoc-Roussillon) and Spain (Rueda/Castilla y Leon & Toro).
Hacienda Araucano is located in Lolol Valley that runs from East to West which funnels cold air from the Pacific Ocean. The difference in temperature between the sea and the land causes a chite fog to develop called the Humo Blanco which can be seen most mornings just above the vineyards. The clay-limestone and stony soils are helpful to drain the rain water. Planted with no rootstock, the vines are among the last vines of the world not to have known Phylloxera.
