Former owner of Chateau de Grandmont (a wine estate in the French wine region of Burgundy), Frenchman Georges Michel was already heartedly enamoured by wine when he and his family decided to move to New Zealand in 1999. Georges Michel Wine Estate was established in 1997 and situated in the 'Golden Mile' which denotes the central route of the Rapaura road area, renowned for the producction of the best flavored fruit of the Marlborough wine region.
