Bodegas Marqués del Atrio is located in the fertile plain of the Ebro Valley in Mendavia, where the vineyards guarantee a premium quality of the grapes. The winery was founded in 2003 with the idea of producing in an unique environment around vineyards and mountains, singular wines under the brand Marqués del Atrio with Denomination of Origin Qualified Rioja.
Facilities with the most advanced technology to elaborate the highest quality wines. There have been major developments over the last 200 years, from delivering wine door to door in wines skins by oxen cart to using the most up-to-date modern state-of-the-art machinery and vinification techniques possible.
The true passion of five generations of the Rivero family have helped produce glorious wines for beautiful moments. Their vineyards situated between approximately 300 and 600 metres altitude, with a high percentage of small plots of less than 1 ha. The owners of these plots are middle-aged and use both traditional and modern technological cultivation methods.
