CHATEAU NENIN - POMEROL

CHATEAU NENIN - POMEROL - Bordeaux - FRANCE - 2010

The outstanding 2010 Nenin (82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc) displays more boysenberry, mocha and black currants. With nearly 14% natural alcohol, it possesses plenty of glycerin, loads of fruit, and broad, classic notes of licorice and plums. This wine should be drinkable in 2-4 years and last for 15 or more. - Robert M. Parker, Jr.

VINEYARD

Located North of the village of Catusseau, Château Nénin, with more than 30 ha and its authentic 19th century château, is one of the vastest and remarkable properties of Pomerol.

Its vineyard is associated with the Demay family during the 18th century, Paillet family during the 19th, and a marriage brought it closer from the Despujols family in the 20th.

On the eve of the 1997 harvest, Jean-Hubert Delon purchased Château Nénin, which had belonged to his cousins, the Despujol family, since 1847. A major restructuring was immediately undertaken to upgrade and improve the vineyard and facilities: purchase of 4 ha-plots bordering Nénin, reconstruction of the vat-room and cellar modernization.

Label Notes:

BLEND 82% Merlot / 18% Cabernet Franc Serve at 17-18°C with sauté of lamb and wine sauce, fresh pasta and truffle shaving or with fillet of venison and chanterelles creamy sauce. This wine will be the perfect partner for a good selection of cheeses such as Fourme d'Ambert, Livarot or Brie.

PARKER MATCHIN After beginning with a very dry and hot month of April, the growth cycle was then considerably slowed down by cool temperatures in May and June. Bunch closure and colour change took place in perfect conditions thanks to dry, sunny weather in July and early August. The grapes were able to ripen beautifully with the excellent weather of August and September.
