The estate of Domaine du Chateau Philippe Le Hardi (formerly known as Château de Santenay) is spread over an area of 90 ha ( 222 acres) stretching from the southern vineyards of Mercurey in Côte Chalonnaise up to the Grand Cru of Clos des Vougeot in Cote de Nuits. The castle was once the residence of the Duke of Burgundy Philippe Le Hardi (Philippe the Bold) ( 1342-1404) who was the first and foremost ambassador of Burgundy and its great wines. A third of our estate is located in the Côte d’Or with vineyards in Aloxe-Corton, Beaune 1er Cru, St Aubin, Pommard, and... Santenay of course.
