This is really exceptional this year. Full body, very velvety tannins, wet earth, mushroom and currant character. ery stoney. Very long and flavor. Greatest wine in the history of the estate.
James SucklingThis wine shows the generous richness of the vintage while restraining it with fine tannins and pure black-currant acidity. The structure and fruits promise long-term aging. Drink this wine from 2027
ROGER VOSS for Wine Enthusiast, 2021Solid, with warm dark plum, currant and bitter cherry flavours, wrapped in singed cedar, vanilla and coffee notes. The toast is a bit overt on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot

Vineyard Info
The Prieuré-Lichine vineyard, created in the 12th century by the former Benedictine monks or "Prieurs" (Superiors) of Cantenac, was awarded on several occasions from 1444. In 1745, the cru was classified third growth of Margaux and Cantenac by the Bordeaux Royal Administration and in 1855 the Prieuré growth was promoted to the rank of Fourth Classified Growth. In 1951, Alexis Lichine took over Château Prieuré-Cantenac. Through a strict renovation program, this pioneer added new terroirs to his estate and rebuilt the ancient priory home. Today it is the safe hands of the Ballande Group. A new page of its history is being written while new impetus has been injected.
