STORIES BEHIND THE BOTTLES - Episode 6 - Rivesaltes Dom Brial

STORIES BEHIND THE BOTTLES - Episode 6 - Rivesaltes Dom Brial

Dom Brial was founded in Baixas (Languedoc-Roussillon, South France) in 1923. A handful of winegrowers joined together sharing this conviction: “Together, we stand strong”.

It was in this spirit of solidarity and excellence that the winery was created.

Territory arrangement:

- 1991: Restoration of Chateau Les Pins and its vineyard
- 2005: creation of Cres Petit vineyard.

After a fire, the wine producers re-implanted on 10 Hectares a typical wine growing area of the Mediterranean hinterland: vines delimited by dry stones walls, green cork oak stands, olive trees, and garrigue.

- To maintain this biodiversity, studies about conservation of the aboriginal fauna and flora were managed.

The natural sweet wines are the hidden gems of this wine region and are rooted in Dom Brial's identity. The Rivesaltes wine traditional vinification includes fortification and oxidation to offer an original sweet wine with “cooked” or caramelized flavours. They are "the treasure of our cellar".

A 100% natural fertilization of soils is their aim.

It is the only winery in Languedoc Roussillon to integrate the “Authenthis Charter” ( with Buzet, Evian and Contrex)
- Optimal and integrated use of phytosanitary treatments
- Total traceability of treatments from the vineyard to the glass
